Pursuing God

Becoming a Grandpa – 2X!

Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.”

Mere words cannot express the miracle of new life – 2X! My oldest daughter, Hannah, just gave birth to twins, Samuel Zohar (brilliance) and Hope Zakiah (pure one). People are asking me what it feels like to be a Grandpa. Honestly, I just became one so it is hard to know. All I can do is share what I am feeling and thinking.  Here are twelve words that described my day (in no particular order).

  1. Joy
  2. Blessing
  3. Thanksgiving
  4. Awe
  5. Pleasure
  6. Wonder
  7. Love
  8. Fun
  9. Excitement
  10. Family
  11. Destiny
  12. Purpose

What I do know is that this is straight-up special! There is nothing like seeing your kids make biblical decisions in life, learning to do the right things and live the right way. From this reality we all get to experience the birth of these twins out of lives given over for Gods glory — it is simply over-the-top. I understand that none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes but there is something to be said about two people committing to and living from the Word of God that results in lives lived to the fullest. All praise goes to the Lord! I am sure I will posting a few more “grandpa” (or whatever the twins wind up calling me) posts in the future. A new role and a new journey lie ahead.
