“You Alone” is a three song EP by Jordan Simas, Ryan Swihart, and Anthony Pereira, all part of our Convergence House of Prayer tribe.
While recently away, I spent time talking with the Lord about priorities, namely, defining the top five percent of my life that I, and only I, can do.
Much of what I’m sharing with you is a result of my recent study from Wayne Cordeiro’s book, “Leading on Empty.” I would urge you to pick up the book. You can see my review here.
Lately, the Lord has me reading A LOT of books and here are five of them I want to highlight. We’ve passed a few of these books among our Staff and have had great discussions as staff member contributes to what they are learning.
Leaders are readers, and we need to be consistently growing. So if you’re not reading, I strongly urge you to do so.
Over the last year, the Lord has really been shining His revelatory light over Matt 16:13-19. Here, we read of Peter’s great confession that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah, Anointed One).
The scriptures tell us that Jesus makes his way furthest north to the region of Caesarea Philippi, and then, he takes a two-day walk with His disciples to the Gates of Hades.
This past year, well more accurately, these past few years have been marked with significant challenges leading to difficult situations.
I’ll use this space to share what the Lord has taught me in this season in the context of leadership and my pursuit of God through the process.
Why do so many view the laws and commands of God as narrow and confining? This is far from the truth. On the contrary, the laws and commands of God are both liberating and freeing.
Now I realize we are New Testament believers and ceremonial laws are no longer needed for all who are in Christ Jesus. I’m referring to the foundational principle of God’s law, mainly the moral laws and commands of the Lord found in both the Old and New Testaments.
Leading through challenging times is never easy. Here are a few things I am learning through a difficult leadership stretch at Convergence House of Prayer.
Without going through the entirety of the challenge I want to leave you with what I’m learning in the midst of it. I hope you can find some of these things beneficial as you face your own.
If we are to endure in living and leading well, we need to have three groups of people in our lives: those who build us, those who inspire us and those who need us.
When these three groups of people are around us, we will continually receive support, encouragement and be connected to the needs of others.
