Love Fremont is growing to be one of our most favorite times of the year at Convergence House of Prayer. We have now completed our second year. Simply put, Love Fremont is an entire week dedicated to serving and blessing our city in practical and creative ways. We believe in a simple equation.
Works of Love + Words of Life + Time = Changed lives. When we intentionally show God’s love in practical and creative ways we gain permission to speak to the hearts of the ones we are serving. In addition, I believe we begin to change the atmosphere in a city with blessing and generosity.
The Anointing Given To Serve Others
The anointing of the Holy Spirit launches us into serving and serving releases the anointing.
Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Based on the passage above, what is the purpose of the anointing?
- To proclaim good news to the poor.
- To proclaim liberty to the captives.
- To give sight to the blind.
- To set free those who are oppressed.
Jesus said, “for even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” and “the greatest among you shall be your servant.” Jesus had the Spirit without measure (John 3:34) to reach and serve people. It’s pretty simple then: saved people serve people. The more anointing we have the greater responsibility we have to serve others with it.
